Monika Pareek is a doctoral student at the Department of Sociology at Florida State University. Her research interests include studying gender-based disparities and marginalization(s) in the developing world, specially India. She has previously been trained as a Social Worker at TISS, and worked as a Research Officer with the TISS, Mumbai-based project ‘Resource Center for Interventions on Violence Against Women’. As a budding sociologist and researcher, Monika continues to remain committed to doing research that contributes to improving the lives of women in the Global South.
